2017 Produced and Hosted Voices from the Women’s March
Krysti Albus has volunteered at WRIR 97.3 FM since 2014. She is a producer on OpenSourceRVA and is an active member of WRIR’s News Talk Production Team. She has produced special editions of OpenSourceRVA – covering the electoral forums for Richmond Virginia’s 2016 elections and other special events. She is training to be a teacher and plans to balance education with her love of radio.

Emily Westerholm has volunteered at WRIR 97.3 FM since 2013 as board operator and is training in sound engineering. She was the producer of the Community Calendar during the school year 2015-2016. She also volunteers on new emerging shows like Sanctuary Richmond. She has worked in various aspects of social services for over 14 years. She began by working with individuals impacted by homelessness in 2001 in California, next she honed in on trauma and crisis management working with those affected by Hurricane Katrina in the Gulf Coast. In the last several years Emily has specialized in chemical dependency and assisting those who experience incarceration.

Jenn is a sound engineer for Diversity Richmond Speaks, a show produced by Diversity Richmond. She is the 2017 producer of WRIR’s Where Radio is Real project, working with the Virginia Anti-Violence Project and Side-By-Side (formerly ROSMY), bringing the voice of the LGBTQ youth to the airways. She was also a producer and host on Community Conversations on Recovery during 2014-2015. She is passionate about social justice, feminism, and advocacy. She has experience working with homeless women, persons with psychiatric illnesses, HIV/AIDS advocacy, and survivors of sexual assault/domestic violence. In her free time Jenn likes to eat, play with her animals, hike, sleep, lift weights, and laugh.
